On Wednesday afternoon, Book Harvest had the pleasure of celebrating Be My Neighbor Day at the Museum of Life and Science with 1,389 of our closest friends! Hosted by the dynamo collaboration of UNC-TV, PNC Grow Up Great, The Fred Rogers Company, and Head Start, Be My Neighbor Day was a hit for local families and community organizations. This special day celebrated local volunteerism and family engagement with educational booths and activities for everyone. The Book Harvest table was set to dazzle any book-lovers, with books ranging from pre-k to high school filling every available space (and lots of boxes waiting to restock books when needed). We didn’t have to wait very long share the joys of reading with our festive friends. Amidst the STEM activities, food, Meet and Greets with PBS Kids stars and general wholesome joy, Book Harvest was able to give 995 books to kids and families! We are so thankful have celebrated families, communities, and educational growth with our neighbors.
