Durham Herald-Sun: “A truck of books rolls into Durham”

Ask anyone at Book Harvest the question: What do 40,000 books do? Their immediate answer: They build home libraries for 4,000 local children.

It’s not every day that an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer truck delivers 40,000 brand new books to go home with children to keep forever. But on Nov. 17, fueled by a new United Way-funded partnership that includes Durham-based nonprofit Book harvest and the nonprofit social enterprise First Book, that’s exactly what will happen right here in Durham.
