Durham Parks & Recreation and Book Harvest Partner to Install Book Boxes

Durham Parks & Recreation and Book Harvest Partner to Install Book Boxes Ribbon cutting of Book Box at Edison Johnson Recreation Center on Thursday.


Durham, NC – Book Harvest and Durham Parks & Recreation are teaming up to install Book Harvest Book Boxes at Campus Hills Recreation Center and Edison Johnson Recreation Center.


To increase book abundance and access, Book Harvest plans to install twelve Book Boxes throughout Durham in 2021. The Boxes are regularly stocked with new and gently-used, culturally inclusive children’s books for children ages 0-18. Children can take home and keep the books.


The two new Book Boxes installed in partnership with DPR will be the fourth and fifth in the Durham community.


A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on June 17 at Edison Johnson Recreation Center at 11:30 AM. The small ribbon cutting ceremony will include representatives from Durham Parks & Recreation and Book Harvest.
