Honoring Ginger: TBJ’s Women in Business Awards

By Benay Hicks | March 24, 2022

This afternoon hundreds of women (and a few men) from various industries gathered together in Cary to receive and honor the winners of the 2022 Women in Business Awards. For the past 25 years, the Triangle Business Journal has recognized women in various business categories who have proven to be outstanding leaders with established track records of significant accomplishments in business and community service.

Book Harvest’s very own Founder and CEO, Ginger Young, was one of the 28 incredible recipients of the 2022 award; one of four in the nonprofit leadership category. Other industries included technology, health care, and law.

While not one to bask in the glow of her achievements, Ginger’s award is well-deserved and we (her nonprofit family) are very proud of her accomplishments; both at Book Harvest and beyond! In recognizing Ginger, the event’s presenters highlighted Book Harvest’s pandemic-era efforts to forge new initiatives that meet children and families where they are, like outdoor spaces. They also praised her goal to make access to free high quality books seamless, easy, and abundant.

Congratulations, Ginger! And thank you for your kindness, beautiful spirit, and strong leadership.
