I Will Always Have a Book in My Hand
Book Harvest founder and CEO, Ginger Young, fondly describes her young self as the "kid who always had a book in her hand." Her story of falling in love with books, finding her favorite book (Harriet the Spy), and developing a love of reading is a story with which all Book Harvest team members are familiar.
Which is why this message from Kayla, a student who received books through our Books on Break program this spring, is so treasured:
“Thank you for all of my new books! I will always have a book in my hand."
Kayla's words are a poignant reminder to us at Book Harvest of our big dream: a future where every child will grow up with a love of books and a desire to keep learning as they grow.
