Round up your friends and family and get ready to DREAM BIG on MLK Day! We couldn’t be more excited for our 13th annual Dream Big Book Drive on January 15 from 1-4pm at the vibrant Golden Belt Campus! Since 2011, the local community has gathered on MLK Day to donate children’s books, volunteer their time, and honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - whose invocation to serve continues to spark inspiration and establish a sense of fellowship amongst the community. This annual event encourages everyone to celebrate the power of community and our big dream of books, literacy and justice for all kids!

“The Dream Big Book Drive & Community Celebration is an expansive and cherished book drive that occurs between December and January, culminating in a community wide celebration on Martin Luther King Jr. Day,” said Tabitha Blackwell, Executive Director of Book Harvest Durham.
We hope you can join us for a celebratory afternoon of events and entertainment, both indoors and outdoors! Community members are invited to bring donations of new and gently used children’s books (for ages 0-18) to the Dream Big event on January 15; a drive-through option to drop off books will also be available. Donated books will be available to families in Durham and beyond through Book Harvest’s many programs, which provide books and literacy support to children starting at birth.
