Join me on MLK Day?

Dear friends of Book Harvest,

2018 was a banner year for us — our one millionth book year! — and we’re kicking off 2019 with BIGGER dreams than ever. Please join us for our eighth annual Dream Big Book Drive and Community Celebration! It’s my favorite day of the year, and trust me: you don’t want to miss it!

Here are your DREAM BIG action items:

NOW is the time to run a book drive and round up LOTS of books! Sign up hereto collect new and gently used children’s books in your neighborhood, workplace, congregation, community group, sports team…the list of possibilities is endless! You’ll find everything you need to organize your Dream Big book drive in our online toolkit. Check out the list of everyone who has signed up to run book drives already — when you sign up, your name will appear here as well!

JOIN US ON MLK DAY AT DURHAM CENTRAL PARK, JANUARY 21, 1 – 4 PM!

Sign up to volunteer (space is limited, so don’t delay), bring your books to donate, or just come out to celebrate! Tisha Powell from our official media sponsor, ABC-11, will again be our emcee, and we’ve added even more fun for families to this year’s event, including free books for all kids to take home and keep forever. The party runs from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Durham Central Park, so mark your calendar now and invite your friends to join you!

Wondering who makes Dream Big possible? Check out our list of more than 70 AWESOME sponsors whose support is making kids’ book dreams come true in 2019! Want to join our family of sponsors? Click HERE.

I can’t wait to see you on January 21! Dreaming Big,

P.S. You can start dreaming with us this Saturday! Join us at 7:30 p.m. on January 5 at First Presbyterian Church in Durham for SONAM’s winter concert, a selection of ancient and new choral music about dreams and lullabies. The concert is FREE and no tickets are required, but donations will be accepted for Book Harvest.
