Book Harvest to Host 14th Annual Dream Big Book Drive and Community Celebration

January 12 at the Golden Belt Campus in Durham


What: Book Harvest will host its 14th annual Dream Big Book Drive and Community Celebration in honor of MLK on Sunday, Jan. 12 from 1-4 PM at the Golden Belt Campus in Durham. Community members are invited to bring donations of new and gently used children’s books or simply come enjoy the free celebration. The event is indoors and outdoors.

 

When: Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

 

Where: Golden Belt Campus, 800 Taylor Street, Durham NC 27701


Who: Community members; representatives from Book Harvest; elected officials; Paperhand Puppet Project; Museum of Life and Science; Bull City Woodshop; Kathi's Klowns Face Painting; The Poetry Fox; "Touch a Truck" with Two Men and A Truck; Bouncing Bulldogs; Durham Fire Department; Mad Popper; B3 Coffee; Weaver Street Market; and more!


Scheduled Events:

1:30 - 2:15 PM Bouncing Bulldogs perform their jump rope show

2:30 - 3:30 PM Paperhand Puppet Project Parade

 

Why: Dream Big is an annual celebration that honors Dr. King and makes a real difference for families in our community. Donated books will be available to families in Durham and beyond through Book Harvest’s suite of programs, which provide books and literacy support to children starting at birth.
