Celebrating National Home Visiting Week: Spotlight on Our Book Babies Literacy Coaches
We are thrilled to celebrate the inaugural National Home Visiting Week (April 21–25, 2025) by shining a spotlight on the incredible work of our Book Babies Literacy Coaches!

At Book Harvest, our Literacy Coaches are at the heart of our Book Babies program—working hand-in-hand with families from a child’s earliest months through kindergarten entry. Their mission is to affirm, encourage, and support caregivers as they build strong foundations for brain development and home literacy from day one.
What does that look like in action?
Each of our coaches—Dani, Taylor, Valerie, and Julissa—maintains a caseload of dozens of families. They provide quarterly home visits, each one carefully planned and grounded in our Book Babies curriculum. During these visits, coaches:
Model shared reading with the Book Baby and any siblings,
Partner with caregivers to set and reflect on literacy goals,
Discuss milestones in language development, and
Offer practical ways to support literacy and language growth at home.
Behind the scenes, this work includes scheduling visits, preparing personalized materials, traveling to meet families where they are, entering data to track progress, administering assessments, and participating in reflective supervision to continually grow in their work.
The beauty of Book Babies lies in the partnership—meeting families in their homes, celebrating their strengths, and nurturing a literacy-rich environment that supports the whole family.
We are deeply grateful for the passion and dedication of Dani, Taylor, Valerie, and Julissa. Their commitment transforms everyday moments into powerful opportunities for learning, bonding, and growing—laying the foundation for a lifetime of reading and learning success.
Happy National Home Visiting Week, and thank you to all who do this essential work!
