Volunteers who care and share what they love the most, make us who we are.
By Caitlyn Bergmann, Book Bank Manager
Happy National Volunteer Week, Book Harvest friends! More than anything, I wish we could be celebrating this special week together. I find myself missing a lot of things these days, but one that comes to mind often is getting to see all of you. This is definitely something that I took for granted!
I want you to know that my admiration and thankfulness for you goes way beyond this one week each year. I am constantly reminded of your contribution to our work and honored that you’ve chosen to stand beside us and advocate for our community’s kids.
Even though I can’t thank you in person, I couldn’t let this week go by without extending my deepest gratitude to you for all of the ways you support our families. Thank you for every book you sort, shelf you stock, and life you change. Your passion and enthusiasm for children’s book access and equity is evident as you welcome families into our office, offer your time at schools for Books on Break, share stories in our local laundromats, and partner with the children and parents in our Book Babies program. You are Book Harvest and we wouldn’t be who we are without you on our team.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you do!
(And thank you from our whole staff team, too! Check out our virtual thank you note — to YOU!)
