Meet the Newest Members of the Book Harvest Team!

At Book Harvest, we know that our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re thrilled to introduce three new team members who bring a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to our mission. Please join us in welcoming Connor McGrath, Evelin Vazquez, and Robin Smith!

Robin Smith, Senior Director of Finance

Robin Smith joined Book Harvest in February 2025 as our Senior Director of Finance, bringing more than 25 years of experience in accounting and nonprofit leadership. Her career has taken her across the U.S. and Central America, where she has worked with nonprofits in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Haiti. Robin holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master’s in Accounting with a concentration in Forensic Accounting. She founded her own accounting firm in 2015, specializing in tax services, CFO consulting, and nonprofit advising. When she’s not crunching numbers, Robin is a certified yoga, Pilates, and group fitness instructor, bringing balance and wellness to the Triangle area. We are thrilled to have Robin’s expertise and leadership on our team.

Evelin Vazquez, Custodian

Evelin Vazquez plays a crucial role in maintaining the welcoming and vibrant environment at Book Harvest as our Custodian. She brings extensive experience in cleaning and organization, having worked in office and house cleaning as well as house painting. Her dedication to creating beautiful, well-maintained spaces is evident in everything she does. Evelin is also a Book Harvest parent, having participated in the Book Babies program with her two children. When she’s not ensuring our spaces are clean and inviting, she enjoys going to the gym, working on DIY projects, and volunteering with early childhood organizations. We’re so grateful to have Evelin on board!

Connor McGrath, Development Coordinator

Connor McGrath joined Book Harvest in March 2025 as our Development Coordinator, bringing a sharp analytical mind and a deep commitment to nonprofit work. With a background in data reporting and database management, Connor ensures our fundraising efforts run smoothly by handling donation processing, acknowledgments, and grant reporting. His experience in aerospace, retail, and e-commerce—working with Fortune 500 companies—has equipped him with the skills to manage and track fundraising progress with precision. Connor is excited to support Book Harvest’s mission of ensuring book ownership for all children and looks forward to getting to know our community.

We are so excited to have Connor, Evelin, and Robin as part of the Book Harvest family. Be sure to give them a warm welcome when you see them around!
