Book Harvest Welcomes Two New Members to Its Board of Directors
Leaders Join Book Harvest at a Time of Organizational Growth
Durham, NC, September 20, 2024: Book Harvest, a nonprofit literacy organization dedicated to books for every child and support for every parent, announced today that Tracey Reed Armant and Carrie Norry are joining its Board of Directors. Both Tracey and Carrie bring to Book Harvest a wealth of experience in education, nonprofit leadership, and advocacy.
Tracey Reed Armant brings to Book Harvest a long history as an educator and foundation program officer. Tracey began her career as an English teacher in Maryland and later earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. She has held academic and research positions at Ohio University and the University of Pittsburgh, and as manager at the Child Advocacy Center at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Her current role as a Program Officer with The Grable Foundation, along with her involvement in multiple nonprofit boards, reflects her deep commitment to children’s and parents’ success.
Carrie Norry joins Book Harvest’s Board with proven dedication to nonprofit innovation and excellence. As the founder and former Executive Director of JUST TRYAN IT, a nonprofit that supports families facing pediatric cancer, Carrie successfully led the organization’s expansion into three states. She also served as an educator and director at independent schools and faith organizations; she holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbia University. Currently, Carrie is the Board Chair for Hope Renovations in Carrboro, NC, which prepares underemployed women and gender expansive individuals for construction careers.
