North Carolina School Psychologists recently joined together for their annual state conference in Winston-Salem, hosted by the North Carolina School Psychology Association (NCSPA). Each year during the conference, our organization holds a raffle containing items that have been donated by local businesses, board members, and exhibitors in an effort to raise money for a selected charity. This year, NCSPA chose to donate all proceeds of their raffle to Book Harvest. From this event, we were able to raise $1,500 and collect 148 children’s books through our book drive!

School Psychologists support children in a variety of ways, including prevention and intervention services, providing direct academic, behavioral, and mental health supports, supporting diverse learners, and creating safe, positive school climates. School Psychologists also place great emphasis on building partnerships that connect families with community service providers. Given our collective emphasis on prevention and early intervention, we felt that Book Harvest was an ideal recipient! It is through these partnerships that we see the greatest outcomes for children and their families and reach our mission of helping children and youth thrive in school, at home, and in life.
