And what a celebration it was!
Last Saturday, April 29, over 600 people joined us with our friends from the Durham County Library at Northgate Mall to celebrate El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day)! The three-hour celebration included a performance by Huepa, crafts with The Scrap Exchange, a magician, face painting, slime-making with Mad Science…and of course, lots and lots of books! Children selected 3,761 books to take home to start or add to their own home libraries. WOW!
