Dear friends of Book Harvest,
Last week, I felt such joy when three-year-old Eli finished reading a book about race cars with me and then — oh so tentatively and hesitantly — asked me if he could take it home to keep.
That moment when I get to say YES to that question — a question I hear a lot — is a moment filled with grace for me. And it is always a moment when I am reminded of the spectacular power of our community. I can say yes to Eli and to so many other children who are building home libraries of books that will fuel cozy bedtime stories because of the village all around me.
If you have ever donated a book to us, THANK YOU. If you have ever donated a dollar, THANK YOU. If you have ever donated your time and volunteer energy, THANK YOU.
All of these big-hearted gestures make it possible for me and for so many others at Book Harvest to support parents and families in the essential work of nourishing young minds and to pursue big dreams for every child in our midst.
On this special day of thanks, my staff colleagues and I give bountiful thanks to YOU.
Wishing you and yours a warm and story-filled Thanksgiving holiday,
