As the School Engagement Manager position, Anneke works closely with Book Harvest Durham's School and Family Engagement team to coordinate Books on Break in Durham and to enhance Book Harvest's role as a literacy partner with the local education community.

Anneke has 8 years of experience in public schools as a middle school Spanish teacher, leader, and mentor. She was honored by Orange County Schools with the Teacher of the Year award in 2020!

Outside of work, Anneke loves to spend time with her partner, family, and friends. She loves being outside - paddleboarding, running, working in a local community garden, and hiking.

Her favorite children’s books are The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein and Biblioburro by Jeanette Winter.
