Beonka Jackson

Parent Ambassador
Start date: August 2024

As Parent Ambassador, Beonka "Be" Jackson nurtures community partnerships and a strong network of families in Durham interested in the power of literacy. Be describes herself as someone who loves children, family, and community -- and since her role at Book Harvest exposes to her all three, it's her dream job!

Before coming to Book Harvest, Be worked with Wake County Schools, most recently as an instructional assistant in special education, where she provided social and emotional guidance to K-5 students. She's also worked as a reading interventionist, afterschool teacher, and administrative assistant. Her eight years working with children in public schools influence her role with Book Harvest and her everyday opportunity to serve as an advocate and literacy guide.
