Cheri Coleman
Senior Director, Book Babies

Cheri Coleman (she/her) leads Book Harvest's Book Babies program as Senior Director, overseeing strategy, development, implementation, and research during a period of significant regional and national expansion. She ensures program fidelity, fosters innovation, and grounds all efforts in research and parent engagement. Collaborating with C-suite staff, she scales Book Babies and influences early childhood literacy policy.
With over two decades of experience supporting families and children, Cheri previously directed Book Harvest's Early Literacy department, enhancing processes and expanding the reach of the Book Babies program. Her professional background includes a decade at the Center for Child and Family Health as a Family Support Worker and Clinical Supervisor, where she worked closely with families in their homes and built interdisciplinary programs to improve early childhood health and development. In addition to her many years working directly with programs, children and families, Cheri has contributed significant research to studies on childhood and adolescent well-being, including a five-state research study for the National Center for Early Development and Learning.
Cheri holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Chicago and an MSW from UNC-Chapel Hill. She is a member of NCIMHA and holds certifications in Parents as Teachers, Integrated Strategies for Home Visiting, Motivational Interviewing, Triple P Level 3, Touchpoints, and is an ABC Certified Parent Coach and Clinical Supervisor.
