Maria Garcia

Senior Data Manager
Start Date: May 2021

As Senior Data Manager at Book Harvest, Marcia Garcia maintains a robust and dynamic database that tracks a variety of metrics on the efficacy of Book Harvest programs. Maria leverages more than a decade of experience as a mechanical engineer in her work to evaluate and analyze the efficacy of Book Harvest programs so that we can best serve children and families in the community.

As a former Book Babies parent and a native Spanish speaker, Maria brings an important cultural perspective and deep understanding of Book Harvest's impact on families. Prior to her current role, she coordinated our Book Babies program in Durham, serving as a vital link between our programs and the community we serve. She was also an official Book Babies Parent Partner at Book Harvest in 2018 and worked with the Book Babies RCT Project in 2019 and 2020.

Maria's favorite thing to do is spend time with her family, especially watching movies all together with a good bowl of popcorn. Her favorite children's book is “Good Night, Gorilla” by Peggy Rathmann.
