Valerie Moreno

Senior Literacy Coach

Valerie Moreno (she/her) is a dedicated advocate for early childhood literacy, bringing a unique blend of skills to her role as a Literacy Coach. Her background in teaching and community outreach, coupled with her fluency in multiple languages and cultures, makes her well-suited to support families in creating enriching home literacy environments.

Valerie is passionate about empowering caregivers and fostering a love of reading in young children. She has over a decade of experience teaching English, Spanish, and French in Puerto Rico, as well as working with youth as a student pastor. Valerie studied Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention and Human Sciences in Montreal, Canada.

Outside of her time from work, Valerie is a mom to a busy toddler and she is also a talented photographer and content creator. Her current favorite children's book is Coqui in the City by Nomar Perez.
